# arize-ai-provider-integration

The skill manages Arize AI integrations: it creates, reads, updates and deletes the stored LLM provider credentials that evaluators rely on.

## What it does

This skill hands the agent a set of `ax ai-integrations` commands. You can list the integrations in a space, fetch one by name or ID, create a new one, rotate credentials, or delete an integration you no longer need. An integration is just stored provider credentials that Arize uses when an evaluator calls a judge model.

Many providers are covered: OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, Gemini, NVIDIA NIM, Fireworks AI, Together AI. Each has its own required flags. Azure OpenAI wants `--base-url` and `--model-name`; Bedrock skips the API key and takes `--provider-metadata` with a `role_arn`. Every provider except LiteLLM, Fireworks AI and Together AI needs a model source — `--enable-default-models` or at least one `--model-name` — otherwise the server rejects the create with `400: An integration must have at least one model available`.

You need the `ax` CLI and a configured Arize profile. The skill tells you to export the provider key in your own terminal and run the command there rather than pasting a secret into chat. One thing to watch: `ai-integrations create` does not take `--space`, since integrations are account-scoped. The flag only applies to `list`, `get`, `update` and `delete`.

## Requirements
- Works with: AWS, Azure

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Arize-ai/arize-skills --skill arize-ai-provider-integration -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Arize-ai/arize-skills --skill arize-ai-provider-integration -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Arize-ai/arize-skills --skill arize-ai-provider-integration -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install Arize-ai/arize-skills arize-ai-provider-integration
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Arize-ai/arize-skills --skill arize-ai-provider-integration -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/Arize-ai/arize-skills --path skills/arize-ai-provider-integration
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add Arize-ai/arize-skills --skill arize-ai-provider-integration -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/Arize-ai/arize-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/arize-ai-provider-integration/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- create an OpenAI integration for an evaluator
- see which integrations already exist in a space
- rotate an expired provider key
- delete an unused integration from the account
- connect Bedrock through role_arn without an API key

## Example prompts
- list the AI integrations in my Arize space
- create an Anthropic integration using the key in $ANTHROPIC_API_KEY
- update the credentials on my-openai

# Arize AI Integration Skill

> **`SPACE`** — `--space` flags accept a space **name** (e.g., `my-workspace`) or a base64 space **ID** (e.g., `U3BhY2U6...`). Resolve a known name with `ax spaces get NAME`; `ax spaces list` is for browsing when the name is unknown.
> **Note:** `ai-integrations create` does **not** accept `--space` — AI integrations are account-scoped. Use `--space` only with `list`, `get`, `update`, and `delete`.

## Concepts

- **AI Integration** = stored LLM provider credentials registered in Arize; used by evaluators to call a judge model and by other Arize features that need to invoke an LLM on your behalf
- **Provider** = the LLM service backing the integration (e.g., `OPEN_AI`, `ANTHROPIC`, `AWS_BEDROCK`)
- **Integration ID** = a base64-encoded global identifier for an integration (e.g., `TGxtSW50ZWdyYXRpb246MTI6YUJjRA==`); required for evaluator creation and other downstream operations
- **Scoping** = visibility rules controlling which spaces or users can use an integration
- **Auth type** = how Arize authenticates with the provider: `DEFAULT` (provider API key), `PROXY_WITH_HEADERS` (proxy via custom headers), `BEARER_TOKEN` (bearer token auth), or `OAUTH2_CLIENT_CREDENTIALS`

## Prerequisites

Proceed directly with the task — run the `ax` command you need. Do NOT check versions, env vars, or profiles upfront.

If an `ax` command fails, troubleshoot based on the error:
- `command not found` or version error → see [references/ax-setup.md](references/ax-setup.md)
