## What it does

This skill inspects your `web-src/` directory to generate `@adobe/react-spectrum` components matching existing conventions. It provides code for sortable `TableView` data tables, validated input forms, navigation layouts, and `DialogTrigger` modals. It handles Experience Cloud Shell setup via `@adobe/exc-app`, calling `runtime.done()` to dismiss the shell spinner and passing IMS tokens to App Builder backend actions.

For Adobe Experience Manager, the skill wires UI extensions using `@adobe/uix-guest`. Supported surfaces include Content Fragment Console, Universal Editor, Assets View, and Content Hub panels.

You need Node.js 18 or higher, npm, and `@adobe/react-spectrum` installed in the project. If you need to scaffold an entire App Builder project from scratch rather than just frontend views, switch to the `appbuilder-project-init` skill instead.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-ui-scaffolder -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-ui-scaffolder -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-ui-scaffolder -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install adobe/skills appbuilder-ui-scaffolder
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-ui-scaffolder -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/adobe/skills --path plugins/app-builder/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/appbuilder-ui-scaffolder/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-ui-scaffolder -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- build a sortable data table using React Spectrum TableView
- integrate ExC Shell using @adobe/exc-app and runtime.done()
- scaffold AEM UI extensions via @adobe/uix-guest
- wire backend App Builder actions with IMS token auth

## Example prompts
- Add a page to my App Builder SPA that shows a data table.
- Set up the shell integration with exc-app and call runtime.done()
- Create a Content Fragment Console extension with uix-guest

# App Builder UI Scaffolder

Generate React Spectrum UI for Adobe Experience Cloud Shell SPAs. This is a reference-based skill — the agent reads patterns and generates context-appropriate code rather than copying static templates.

> Building a **Workfront** extension UI? The Workfront extension points (Main Menu, per-object left panel, custom-form widgets) and the Workfront shared context live in `workfront-ui-extension`. Use this skill for the generic Spectrum component patterns (pages, forms, tables, dialogs, navigation) it calls into.

## Pattern Quick-Reference

Identify the user's intent, then read the referenced sections to generate tailored code.

| User wants | Reference | Key components |
| --- | --- | --- |
| New page with shell context | `references/ui-patterns.md` § Page + `references/shell-integration.md` | `View`, `Heading`, `Content` |
| Form with validation | `references/ui-patterns.md` § Form | `Form`, `TextField`, `NumberField`, `Picker`, `Button` |
| Data table (sortable, paginated) | `references/ui-patterns.md` § Table | `TableView`, `TableHeader`, `Column`, `TableBody`, `Row`, `Cell` |
| Confirmation dialog / modal | `references/ui-patterns.md` § Dialog | `DialogTrigger`, `AlertDialog`, `Dialog` |
| Navigation layout | `references/ui-patterns.md` § Navigation | `Tabs`, `Breadcrumbs`, `Flex` |
| ExC Shell setup | `references/shell-integration.md` | `@adobe/exc-app`, `Provider`, `defaultTheme` |
| Connect UI to backend actions | `references/action-integration.md` | `fetch()` with IMS token |
| AEM UI Extension (CF Console, CF Editor, Universal Editor, Assets View) | `references/aem-extensions.md` | `@adobe/uix-guest`, `register()`, `sharedContext` |
