## What it does

The skill produces three workflows: deploy to stage, deploy to prod, and PR tests. Templates live in `assets/deploy-stage.yml`, `assets/deploy-prod.yml` and `assets/pr-test.yml`, and `assets/fetch-secrets.sh` pulls credential values out of your workspace config. The official actions are `adobe/aio-cli-setup-action@3` and `adobe/aio-apps-action@3.3.0`.

Auth runs on OAuth Server-to-Server with IMS. The `auth` command in `aio-apps-action` is deprecated — it uses JWT, and the skill tells you not to touch it. Secrets go into repository secrets, since App Builder does not support GitHub environment secrets. Each workspace needs its own set of 14 secrets with a `_STAGE` or `_PROD` suffix.

Add the I/O Management API to the workspace in Developer Console before extracting secrets, or the step fails. Then download `workspace.json`, run `aio app use <workspace.json>` and execute `fetch-secrets.sh`. You need the aio CLI, Node.js 18+ and a CI/CD platform. Azure DevOps, GitLab CI and Jenkins are covered in `references/generic-pipeline-guide.md`.

There is a fast path. Ask for CI/CD setup on GitHub without extra detail and you get all three files plus the secrets guide in one go. For messier requests the skill first checks for an existing `.github/workflows/` directory and asks about your target organization, project and workspaces.

## Requirements
- Works with: GitLab, Azure DevOps

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-cicd-pipeline -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-cicd-pipeline -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-cicd-pipeline -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install adobe/skills appbuilder-cicd-pipeline
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-cicd-pipeline -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/adobe/skills --path plugins/app-builder/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/appbuilder-cicd-pipeline/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add adobe/skills --skill appbuilder-cicd-pipeline -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- generate stage and prod deploy workflows for an App Builder project
- extract workspace credential values for repository secrets
- switch deploy auth from deprecated JWT to OAuth S2S
- gate production deploys on manifest validation
- port the pipeline to Azure DevOps or GitLab CI

## Example prompts
- set up CI/CD for my App Builder project on GitHub
- generate deploy workflows for stage and prod
- help me extract workspace secrets and add them to repository secrets

# App Builder CI/CD Pipeline

Set up CI/CD pipelines for Adobe App Builder projects — GitHub Actions (primary), Azure DevOps, GitLab CI. Uses OAuth S2S credentials with IMS authentication. Repository secrets only (no environment secrets).

## Pattern Quick-Reference

| User wants | Template |
| --- | --- |
| GitHub Actions deploy-to-stage | assets/deploy-stage.yml |
| GitHub Actions deploy-to-prod | assets/deploy-prod.yml |
| GitHub Actions PR tests | assets/pr-test.yml |
| Extract secrets from workspace | assets/fetch-secrets.sh |
| Azure DevOps / GitLab CI / Jenkins | references/generic-pipeline-guide.md |
| Secrets setup guide | references/secrets-management.md |
| Debugging deploy failures | references/debugging.md |

## Fast Path (for clear requests)

When the user says "set up CI/CD for my App Builder project" and they use GitHub, generate all 3 workflow files + secrets guide immediately:

1. Copy `assets/deploy-stage.yml` → `.github/workflows/deploy_stage.yml`
2. Copy `assets/deploy-prod.yml` → `.github/workflows/deploy_prod.yml`
3. Copy `assets/pr-test.yml` → `.github/workflows/pr_test.yml`
4. Guide secrets setup using `references/secrets-management.md`
```
