## What it does

This skill walks an agent through editing an existing short video from a natural-language instruction, using `gemini-omni-flash-preview` and the AnyCap CLI. The target case is a one-shot edit: the source clip stays mostly as it is and one element changes. Product swaps from a reference photo, object removal, relighting, restyling.

The workflow starts with a live check — `anycap status` and `anycap video models gemini-omni-flash-preview schema --operation generate --mode edit-video` — so only supported parameters get used. Then comes a narrow English prompt, a run of `anycap video generate --mode edit-video`, and QA with `ffprobe`, frame samples and `anycap actions video-read`. References go in through `--param videos=` and `--param images=`; several images are passed as a JSON array.

Because the model is a preview, the skill points to Google's docs for behavior and treats the live AnyCap schema as the source of truth for runnable parameters. It advises starting with the smallest possible edit, since combined changes tend to break identity, hands or camera motion. CLI syntax and authentication live in the separate `anycap-cli` skill.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anycap-ai/anycap --skill anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anycap-ai/anycap --skill anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anycap-ai/anycap --skill anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install anycap-ai/anycap anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anycap-ai/anycap --skill anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/anycap-ai/anycap --path skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add anycap-ai/anycap --skill anycap-gemini-omni-video-edit -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- swap a product in a clip using a reference image
- remove an unwanted object from the frame
- relight a scene without touching timing
- restyle a shot or change on-screen text
- keep a person and background, alter one detail

## Example prompts
- edit ./source.mp4: replace the product with ./product-front.png, keep everything else the same
- remove the object from ./clip.mp4 and preserve camera motion
- relight ./scene.mp4, leave shadows and timing unchanged

# AnyCap Gemini Omni Video Edit

Use this skill to edit short videos with `gemini-omni-flash-preview` via AnyCap. It is optimized for practical one-shot video edits where a source video should stay mostly unchanged and one element should change.

For CLI syntax, authentication, model discovery conventions, and delivery options, read the `anycap-cli` skill when needed.

## Evidence To Verify

Gemini Omni Flash Preview is a preview model, so verify the live surface before running:

```bash
anycap status
anycap video models gemini-omni-flash-preview
anycap video models gemini-omni-flash-preview schema --operation generate --mode edit-video
```

Also check official Google docs when model behavior matters:

- Gemini Omni Flash guide: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/omni
- Gemini API video overview: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/video
- Gemini Omni Flash model card: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/models/gemini-omni-flash

Treat the AnyCap live schema as the source of truth for runnable CLI parameters. Treat official Google docs as the source of truth for model behavior, limitations, and prompting guidance.

## Fit Check

Use Gemini Omni Flash Preview when the task is:

- edit an existing short video from natural language
- preserve identity, camera motion, background, hands, lighting, timing, and audio while changing one visual element
- swap a product or prop using one or more reference images
- remove or hide a visible object
- make narrow scene-level edits such as relighting, restyling, or text/sign changes
- run fast preview iterations before considering a higher-control video model

Consider another video model or direct provider API when the task requires:
