## What it does

This skill carries working knowledge of the X6 v3 engine from AntV. You make a `Graph`, fill it with `graph.addNode()` and `graph.addEdge()`, and turn on features by passing plugin classes to `graph.use()`. The notes cover the mistakes that break a diagram editor early: X6 v3 has no `graph.render()`, the container is given as the string `container: 'container'`, and every class you call must be imported from `@antv/x6` or the browser picks an unrelated global.

There is a clear split between two kinds of options. Eleven plugin classes exist, among them `Export`, `Selection`, `History`, `MiniMap`, `Stencil` and `Dnd`; those go through `graph.use`. Settings like `mousewheel`, `embedding`, `panning`, `connecting` and `grid` are constructor options instead. Treat them as plugins and the import fails, because there is no such class to import.

Reference material comes from an AntV HTTP endpoint at `https://sive.antv.antgroup.com`, path `/api/v1/context/retrieve`, called with GET and the parameters `query` plus `library=x6`. Network access and `curl` are what the lookup needs. The skill targets @antv/x6 v3 only. Bring it a G2 chart, a G6 network or an S2 pivot table and the advice will be wrong, since those libraries expose a different API.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add antvis/chart-visualization-skills --skill antv-x6-editor -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/antv-x6-editor/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/antv-x6-editor/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add antvis/chart-visualization-skills --skill antv-x6-editor -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/antv-x6-editor/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add antvis/chart-visualization-skills --skill antv-x6-editor -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/antv-x6-editor/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install antvis/chart-visualization-skills antv-x6-editor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/antv-x6-editor/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add antvis/chart-visualization-skills --skill antv-x6-editor -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/antvis/chart-visualization-skills --path skills/antv-x6-editor
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/antv-x6-editor/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add antvis/chart-visualization-skills --skill antv-x6-editor -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/antvis/chart-visualization-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/antv-x6-editor/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build a node-and-edge flowchart on @antv/x6
- register Export, Selection or MiniMap without breaking the graph
- wire node ports together and connect edges to them
- fix a diagram whose content drifts to the top-left corner
- move an editor from X6 v2 to v3

## Example prompts
- Build an @antv/x6 editor with a shape stencil on the left and a canvas on the right, connecting ports by dragging
- Add a minimap and a PNG export to my X6 graph
- Why does registering Selection throw an error in X6 v3?

# X6 v3 Graph Editor

## Overview

X6 v3 is AntV's diagram editing engine for flowcharts, DAGs, ER diagrams, org charts, and other interactive node-edge editors. Unlike G2/G6, X6 uses an **imperative API** — you create a `Graph` instance, then call `graph.addNode()`, `graph.addEdge()`, and register plugins via `graph.use()`.

```javascript
import { Graph } from '@antv/x6';
const graph = new Graph({
  container: 'container',
  background: { color: '#F2F7FA' },
});
const source = graph.addNode({
  shape: 'rect',
  x: 40, y: 40, width: 100, height: 40,
  label: 'Source',
  attrs: { body: { stroke: '#8f8f8f', strokeWidth: 1, fill: '#fff', rx: 6, ry: 6 } },
});
const target = graph.addNode({
  shape: 'rect',
  x: 300, y: 200, width: 100, height: 40,
  label: 'Target',
  attrs: { body: { stroke: '#8f8f8f', strokeWidth: 1, fill: '#fff', rx: 6, ry: 6 } },
});
graph.addEdge({ source, target, attrs: { line: { stroke: '#8f8f8f', strokeWidth: 1 } } });
graph.centerContent();
```

### CDN Usage

```html
<script src="https://unpkg.com/@antv/x6@3/dist/x6.js"></script>
<script>
  const graph = new X6.Graph({
    container: 'container',
    background: { color: '#F2F7FA' },
  });
  const source = graph.addNode({
    shape: 'rect',
    x: 40, y: 40, width: 100, height: 40,
    label: 'Source',
    attrs: { body: { stroke: '#8f8f8f', strokeWidth: 1, fill: '#fff', rx: 6, ry: 6 } },
  });
