## What it does

This skill guides reactive state management in Angular v20+. It covers creating primary state with `signal()` and derived values with `computed()`. It also touches on `linkedSignal()` and `effect()` calls, alongside refactoring code away from `BehaviorSubject`.

The author has deprecated the skill and removed its instructions so stale guidance does not linger. Keeping it installed has little practical value because the Angular team now maintains official skills under `angular/skills`.

You can purge an existing installation using `npx skills remove analogjs/angular-skills`. Historical instructions remain accessible only through git repository history.

## Requirements
- Works with: GitHub

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add analogjs/angular-skills --skill angular-signals -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/angular-signals/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/angular-signals/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add analogjs/angular-skills --skill angular-signals -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/angular-signals/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add analogjs/angular-skills --skill angular-signals -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/angular-signals/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install analogjs/angular-skills angular-signals
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/angular-signals/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add analogjs/angular-skills --skill angular-signals -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/analogjs/angular-skills --path skills/angular-signals
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/angular-signals/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add analogjs/angular-skills --skill angular-signals -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/analogjs/angular-skills/tree/HEAD/skills/angular-signals/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- build reactive state using `signal()`
- create derived state with `computed()`
- handle linked dependencies via `linkedSignal()`
- migrate legacy `BehaviorSubject` code to Angular signals

## Example prompts
- Refactor this component state from BehaviorSubject to signal() and computed()
- Implement dependent state using linkedSignal() in Angular v20+
- How do I handle this side effect using effect() in Angular?
