## What it does

The skill retrieves live financial news, combines trends across multiple platforms, and queries Polymarket prediction markets. It connects to financial platforms such as Weibo, Zhihu, and WallstreetCN to aggregate feeds into unified reports.

Execution relies on `scripts/news_tools.py`. The `NewsNowTools` class handles `fetch_hot_news` and `get_unified_trends` using source identifiers such as `cls` or `weibo`. In addition, `PolymarketTools` runs `get_market_summary` to return active market predictions.

Running the scripts requires Python dependencies `requests` and `loguru`, along with the local database helper `scripts/database_manager.py`. Missing packages will break data retrieval before any report reaches the context window.

## Capabilities

### 1. Fetch Hot News & Trends

Use `scripts/news_tools.py` via `NewsNowTools`.

-   **Fetch News**: `fetch_hot_news(source_id, count)`
    -   See [sources.md](references/sources.md) for valid `source_id`s (e.g., `cls`, `weibo`).
-   **Unified Report**: `get_unified_trends(sources)`
    -   Aggregates top news from multiple sources.

### 2. Fetch Prediction Markets

Use `scripts/news_tools.py` via `PolymarketTools`.

-   **Market Summary**: `get_market_summary(limit)`
    -   Returns a formatted report of active prediction markets.
