## What it does

This skill gives the agent templates for Airtable base structures, including linked project and task tables, fields, Grid views, Kanban views and Calendar views. It also covers formulas for dates, status and progress, plus rollups for task counts and hours.

It includes built-in automation patterns for new-task notifications, overdue-task emails and project status changes at 100% progress. There are n8n flow outlines too: form data enters Airtable, is enriched, sent to HubSpot, then reported in Slack.

Record creation, updates and queries are tied to the `airtable-mcp` MCP server. Check that connection before working with records.

## Requirements
- Works with: n8n

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill airtable-automation -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/airtable-automation/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/airtable-automation/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill airtable-automation -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/airtable-automation/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill airtable-automation -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/airtable-automation/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install claude-office-skills/skills airtable-automation
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/airtable-automation/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill airtable-automation -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills --path airtable-automation
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/airtable-automation/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add claude-office-skills/skills --skill airtable-automation -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/claude-office-skills/skills/tree/HEAD/airtable-automation/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- design linked project and task tables
- create views grouped by status or dates
- write an overdue-task formula
- calculate hours with rollup fields
- connect a form, Airtable and HubSpot through n8n

## Example prompts
- Design an Airtable base for projects, tasks and team members with linked records.
- Set up an Airtable automation that posts a new task to Slack.
- Draft an n8n flow that sends form data to Airtable and HubSpot.

## Overview

This skill covers:
- Database design and views
- Built-in automations
- n8n integration workflows
- Formula and rollup design
- Reporting and dashboards

## Database Design

### Base Structure Template

```yaml
base: "Project Management"
tables:
  Projects:
    fields:
      - Name: single_line_text (primary)
      - Status: single_select [Planning, Active, On Hold, Complete]
      - Priority: single_select [P0, P1, P2, P3]
      - Owner: collaborator
      - Start Date: date
      - Due Date: date
      - Budget: currency
      - Tasks: link_to_records (Tasks)
