## What it does

The skill reads your request and routes it. Premium vocal work goes to ElevenLabs AI Music Generation: 44.1 kHz stereo, 5 s to 5 min, $0.0083/s. Background music, jingles and drafts go to ACE Step or ACE Step 1.5 from StepFun-AI, open-weights at $0.0002–0.0003/s — roughly 27× cheaper. The 1.5 variant adds vocal support in 50+ languages.

Editing an existing track is ACE Step only, since ElevenLabs has no edit endpoints. `audio-inpaint` regenerates a time range inside a track using `start_time` and `end_time`, which is how you fix a bad chorus or swap a bridge. `audio-outpaint` extends a track before or after via `extend_before_duration` and `extend_after_duration`; going past 4 minutes total in one call does not work, so you chain calls instead.

Under the hood it is plain CLI calls: `runcomfy run <vendor>/<model>/<endpoint>` with JSON in `--input` and a folder in `--output-dir`. Style and lyrics split differently per model. ElevenLabs reads a single `prompt` with section markers, while ACE Step wants style in `tags` and words in `lyrics`. You need `runcomfy login` before the first run, or the `RUNCOMFY_TOKEN` env var in CI and containers. The CLI installs globally with `npm i -g @runcomfy/cli`, or runs without installing through `npx -y @runcomfy/cli`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill ai-music -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ai-music/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ai-music/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill ai-music -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ai-music/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill ai-music -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ai-music/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills ai-music
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ai-music/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill ai-music -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --path ai-music
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ai-music/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills --skill ai-music -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/prime-skills/runcomfy-agent-skills/tree/HEAD/ai-music/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- generate a vocal track for an ad spot
- build a background music library on a small budget
- write a song with lyrics in several languages
- regenerate a bad chorus inside an existing track
- stretch a 30 s draft into a 2 min cut

## Example prompts
- Generate a premium vocal track for an ad spot with ElevenLabs
- Make cheap 60-second background music for a game, instrumental only
- Inpaint the chorus from 20 s to 40 s in `song.mp3`
