## What it does

The skill wires the agent to `@cloudbase/node-sdk` 3.16.0 and up so AI calls happen in server code. Text goes through `ai.createModel` with the groups `cloudbase`, `hunyuan-exp` or `custom-*`, while the model id — `deepseek-v4-flash`, `glm-5`, `kimi-k2.6` — belongs in the `model` field of `generateText` and `streamText`. Image generation is a separate entry point, `ai.createImageModel("hunyuan-image")` with `generateImage`, and this SDK is the only one that supports it.

No SDK code gets written before a two-step preflight. The agent reads `EnvId` from the MCP tool `queryEnv`, then checks for an active Token Credits pack with `callCloudApi` and `DescribeEnvPostpayPackage`. No pack means the agent stops and asks the user to buy one. Step two confirms the target group through `DescribeAIModels`; a missing model gets enabled with `UpdateAIModel` and `Status: 1`.

The argument to `ai.createModel(...)` is where agents slip. Only three values are legal: `"cloudbase"`, `"hunyuan-exp"` and `"custom-<name>"`. Vendor names and model ids inside those parentheses are bugs. Nothing is enabled by default, so the `DescribeAIModels` check is not optional. This skill is the wrong pick for browser apps — that is `ai-model-web` — and for WeChat Mini Programs, which use `ai-model-wechat`.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill ai-model-nodejs -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/ai-model-nodejs/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/ai-model-nodejs/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill ai-model-nodejs -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/ai-model-nodejs/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill ai-model-nodejs -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/ai-model-nodejs/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install TencentCloudBase/skills ai-model-nodejs
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/ai-model-nodejs/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill ai-model-nodejs -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/TencentCloudBase/skills --path skills/ai-model-nodejs
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/ai-model-nodejs/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add TencentCloudBase/skills --skill ai-model-nodejs -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

## When to use it
- call an AI model from a CloudBase cloud function
- generate an image server-side with Hunyuan Image
- build an LLM proxy or agent orchestration in Express/Koa/NestJS
- run a scheduled job that hits a model
- keep API secrets on the server

## Example prompts
- Wire up @cloudbase/node-sdk and call deepseek-v4-flash from a cloud function
- Add image generation with ai.createImageModel("hunyuan-image")
- Check DescribeAIModels for the cloudbase group and enable glm-5 if it's missing

## Sibling skills (local only)

Sibling CloudBase skills ship beside this skill. Use local relative paths such as `../auth-tool-cloudbase/SKILL.md`.

If a referenced sibling skill file is missing from this environment, ask the user to install the full CloudBase plugin (or the missing skill). Do **not** HTTP-fetch remote skill or protocol markdown into the agent context.

## When to use this skill

Use this skill for **calling AI models from Node.js backends, cloud functions, or CloudRun services** via `@cloudbase/node-sdk`.

> 🧭 **Runtime-plane fit.** This is the right skill when the AI call truly belongs on the server: image generation (the only SDK that supports it), long-running agent jobs, orchestration across multiple tools, scheduled tasks, or flows that must keep secrets server-side. **If the user is building a Web page / frontend AI chat UI, do NOT wrap this SDK behind a backend proxy** — route to `ai-model-web` and call the model directly from the browser. For WeChat Mini Programs use `ai-model-wechat`. Routing is decided by runtime plane first; the concrete model (`deepseek-*`, `glm-*`, `hunyuan-*`, `kimi-*`, …) only affects the `model` field.

**Use it when you need to:**

- Integrate AI text generation into a backend service
- Generate images with the Hunyuan Image model
- Call AI models from CloudBase cloud functions or CloudRun
- Do server-side AI processing (agent orchestration, batch jobs, scheduled tasks)

**Do NOT use for:**

- Browser/Web apps → use the `ai-model-web` skill
- WeChat Mini Program → use the `ai-model-wechat` skill
