## What it does

The skill configures connections to Alchemy services via either the `x402` or `MPP` gateway. It replaces static API keys with wallet authentication: Sign-In with Ethereum (SIWE) for EVM chains or SIWS for Solana. Each request is billed individually with USDC via `x402`, or with USDC and credit cards via MPP.

Before writing application code, the skill triggers a mandatory prompt asking you to pick between `x402` and `MPP`. Under `x402`, it wires libraries such as `@alchemy/x402` and `@x402/fetch`. Under `MPP`, it configures `mppx` and `viem`. To protect credentials, the skill strictly prohibits the agent from inspecting or editing secret files like `wallet.json` or `.env`.

This setup belongs strictly in deployed application code, not interactive session queries. If you already have a standard API key, using `alchemy-api` is the better choice since this gateway exists specifically for keyless, per-request micro-payments.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alchemyplatform/skills --skill agentic-gateway -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/agentic-gateway/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/agentic-gateway/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alchemyplatform/skills --skill agentic-gateway -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/agentic-gateway/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alchemyplatform/skills --skill agentic-gateway -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/agentic-gateway/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install alchemyplatform/skills agentic-gateway
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/agentic-gateway/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alchemyplatform/skills --skill agentic-gateway -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/alchemyplatform/skills --path skills/agentic-gateway
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/agentic-gateway/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add alchemyplatform/skills --skill agentic-gateway -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- integrate Alchemy endpoints into an application without storing an API key
- set up autonomous agents to pay for their own RPC calls in USDC via x402
- implement per-request credit card billing through the Merchant Payment Protocol
- configure wallet-based SIWE or SIWS authentication for blockchain infrastructure

## Example prompts
- Integrate Alchemy into our backend using the x402 gateway with an EVM wallet and no API key.
- Set up MPP payments with Stripe for our application calls to Alchemy.
- Wire @alchemy/x402 and @x402/fetch into the service with SIWE authentication.

description: Wire Alchemy into application code without an API key, using the x402 or MPP gateway with wallet-based auth (SIWE/SIWS) and per-request payments (USDC via x402, or USDC/credit-card via MPP). Specialized app-integration path. Use when the user is building application code AND no API key is available, or they're an autonomous agent that needs to pay for itself, or they explicitly want x402/MPP. For normal app code with an API key, use `alchemy-api`. For live agent work in this session (querying, admin, automation), use `alchemy-cli` (preferred) or `alchemy-mcp`.

compatibility: Requires network access, Node.js (`npx`), and a wallet funded with USDC (x402, or MPP+Tempo) or a credit card via Stripe (MPP+Stripe). Works across Claude.ai, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and API.

# Alchemy Agentic Gateway (x402 / MPP)

> **Notice:** This repository is experimental and subject to change without notice. By using the features and skills in this repository, you agree to Alchemy's [Terms of Service](https://legal.alchemy.com/) and [Privacy Policy](https://legal.alchemy.com/#contract-sblyf8eub).

A specialized app-integration skill for using Alchemy's developer platform from application code **without** a standard API key. Authentication is wallet-based (SIWE for EVM, SIWS for Solana). Each request is paid per-call with USDC (x402) or USDC/credit-card (MPP).

## When to use this skill

Use `agentic-gateway` when **all** of the following are true:

- The user is wiring Alchemy into **application code** (server, backend, dApp, worker, script) that runs **outside** the current agent session
- **AND** at least one of:
  - No Alchemy API key is available
  - The user is an autonomous agent that needs to pay for itself (per-request, no upfront key)
  - The user explicitly wants x402 or MPP
  - No other runtime path exists and they intentionally choose the gateway

This is a **specialized** app-integration path. The default app path is `alchemy-api` with an API key.

## When to use a different skill

| Situation | Use this skill instead |
| --- | --- |
| Live agent work in this session (queries, admin, on-machine automation) and `@alchemy/cli` is installed locally — or both CLI and MCP are available | `alchemy-cli` |
| Live agent work in this session and only MCP is wired into the client (no CLI) | `alchemy-mcp` |
| Live agent work and neither is available | install `alchemy-cli` and use `alchemy-cli` |
| Application code with an Alchemy API key (the normal path) | `alchemy-api` |
```
