## What it does

The skill hands the agent a five-step workflow: map entry points and trust boundaries, load the references the code needs, sweep for candidate issues, triage each candidate, then report. Findings come one block at a time with severity, CWE, OWASP category, the path from entry point to sink, impact, and a concrete fix. Confidence is stated too — confirmed, likely, or needs verification.

Four reference files sit behind it. `reference/review-checklist.md` covers every Top 10 category plus LLM and agent checks. `reference/languages.md` lists per-language pitfalls with unsafe and safe examples. `reference/config-and-supply-chain.md` handles Dockerfiles, Kubernetes, Terraform, framework config, lockfiles, and CI. `reference/owasp-report.md` runs about 1100 lines of attack vectors and mitigations across all the lists.

The rule that shapes the output: a pattern match is not a vulnerability. Before reporting, the agent has to confirm the input is actually attacker-controlled, the sink is reachable, what the blast radius is, and whether the attacker can perform every step. If reachability can't be determined from the code at hand, the finding says so. That check is what keeps the report from drowning in unreachable code.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agamm/claude-code-owasp --skill owasp-security -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/owasp-security/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/owasp-security/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agamm/claude-code-owasp --skill owasp-security -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/owasp-security/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agamm/claude-code-owasp --skill owasp-security -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/owasp-security/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install agamm/claude-code-owasp owasp-security
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/owasp-security/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agamm/claude-code-owasp --skill owasp-security -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/agamm/claude-code-owasp --path .claude/skills/owasp-security
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/owasp-security/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add agamm/claude-code-owasp --skill owasp-security -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/agamm/claude-code-owasp/tree/HEAD/.claude/skills/owasp-security/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- review a diff for vulnerabilities before merge
- audit authentication and sessions in a new service
- trace unsafe handling of uploaded files and URLs
- harden a Dockerfile, workflow, or lockfile against supply chain attacks
- assess prompt injection risk in an LLM feature or MCP server

## Example prompts
- do a security review of this diff against OWASP
- check the file upload path — is anything exploitable here
- threat model the new auth endpoint

# OWASP Security

Apply these standards when writing or reviewing code. For a review, follow the workflow below.

**Reference files** (read the one the task needs, and only the section you need):
- [`reference/review-checklist.md`](reference/review-checklist.md): coverage checklist for every Top 10 category, plus LLM and agent checks. Read during step 3 of a review.
- [`reference/languages.md`](reference/languages.md): per-language pitfalls with unsafe/safe examples for 20+ languages. Read the section for the language under review.
- [`reference/config-and-supply-chain.md`](reference/config-and-supply-chain.md): A02 and A03 in Dockerfiles, Kubernetes, Terraform, framework config, security headers, lockfiles, and CI/CD. Read when the change touches config, IaC, dependencies, or pipelines.
- [`reference/owasp-report.md`](reference/owasp-report.md): attack vectors, mitigations, and worked examples for every Top 10:2025, ASVS 5.0, LLM Top 10, and Agentic item. About 1100 lines: jump to the section you need.

## Security Review Workflow

Copy this checklist into your response and tick it off as you go:

```
Security Review Progress:
- [ ] Step 1: Map entry points and trust boundaries
- [ ] Step 2: Load the references this code needs
- [ ] Step 3: Sweep for candidate issues
- [ ] Step 4: Triage every candidate
- [ ] Step 5: Report findings
