## What it does

The skill handles active recruitment: it qualifies prospects, tiers them, brainstorms a pitch angle, writes the first-touch email and a follow-up sequence with a breakup touch. Reference files cover prospect sourcing, outreach compliance, pitch anatomy and cadence. It works for B2B SaaS and B2C ecommerce/DTC programs.

Before drafting, the skill runs an interview: program type, product value prop, the already-decided commission, target affiliate categories, where the list came from, geography, brand voice, which CTA you can honor, who signs, the deadline and the effort ceiling. The last three questions decide every ranking downstream, so they come before any draft. Every ranking is a default, not a law — after the answers, the skill re-ranks and says what moved.

A manual brand-safety screen runs before outreach: trademark bidding, coupon injection and adware, spam sites. Canadian and German prospects get flagged — no cold email to them without a documented consent basis. If you cannot show that basis, that is a reason to check the segment before sending, not after. The skill communicates the commission; it never designs or adjusts it. For pitching one individually vetted creator, use `influencer-outreach` instead.

## Install

```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/partnerships-skills --skill affiliate-recruitment-outreach -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/affiliate-recruitment-outreach/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/affiliate-recruitment-outreach/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/partnerships-skills --skill affiliate-recruitment-outreach -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/affiliate-recruitment-outreach/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add mbfinotti/partnerships-skills --skill affiliate-recruitment-outreach -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/affiliate-recruitment-outreach/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

# Affiliate Recruitment Outreach

Draft the copy and sequence plan an affiliate program manager uses to actively recruit new affiliates. This skill owns active outreach only.

Affiliate recruitment has no canonical named industry framework. The only affiliate-native vocabulary with broad adoption is the active/passive recruitment split, coined by practitioner Geno Prussakov:

- _Passive_ recruitment makes the program findable.
- _Active_ recruitment reaches out to identified prospects.

Vendor and course models circulating in this space (five-P flywheels, "perfect partner" lists, 20-60-20 splits) are individual commercial programs, not industry standards. Never present one as a standard.

## Interview

Ask before drafting anything. One question per message; offer multiple-choice answers when possible. Skip any question the user already answered.

- Is the program B2B SaaS or B2C ecommerce/DTC? (Or both - then segment everything downstream.)
- What makes the product worth promoting - the value prop an affiliate's audience would actually care about?
- What is the already-decided commission, exactly: rate/model, cookie or attribution window, payout terms? This skill communicates the commission; it never designs or adjusts it.
