# ae-use-agent

This skill brings a custom Agent’s instructions and dependencies into a local coding client. Use it to run tasks with the client’s model and local files.

## What it does

\`ae-use-agent` resolves an Agent by name with `+list-agents --q <name>`, then requests its context through `ae-cli agent +get-agent-context --id <agent-id> --host <original-host>`. The returned instructions guide the task inside the client’s existing instruction hierarchy, while local capabilities remain in use.

The skill can retrieve Skill bodies and related references, scripts, or assets through the returned command descriptors. File inventories are requested when needed. It does not install software or alter global instruction files on its own, and MCP secrets must come from the client’s normal credential setup.

The setup depends on `ae-cli` and access to the Agent context endpoint. Without `ae-cli`, the skill cannot fetch Agent context. It also does not start a remote te-agent session or enable the entire Agent merely by loading its prompt.

## When to use it
- resolve an Agent by name or ID
- fetch Agent context from the original host
- retrieve Skill dependencies on demand
- run a task with local files and the current model
- stop an affected step when a required dependency is unavailable

## Example prompts
- Find the Agent named `data-review` and use it to inspect the database schema.
- Fetch context for Agent `<agent-id>` with `ae-cli`, then complete the task in the current project.
- Load the Agent’s required references and scripts, but do not install dependencies automatically.
