## What it does

This skill covers Active Directory Certificate Services from the CA and template model to certificate-based Kerberos authentication through PKINIT. It explains SAN, EKU, enrollment permissions, issuance requirements, and the conditions behind ESC1–ESC8. The source description also covers ESC9–ESC13 and certificate-based persistence.

The playbook includes enumeration with `certipy`, `Certify`, and `ldapsearch`, CA flag checks with `certutil`, and workflows involving `ntlmrelayx.py` and `PetitPotam.py`. It connects each configuration issue with its impact and shows how certificate requests, template changes, and issued certificates fit together.

These workflows depend on Active Directory and AD CS. The examples use domain, controller, CA, and credential parameters, so those values must exist in the environment being reviewed.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill active-directory-certificate-services -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/active-directory-certificate-services/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/active-directory-certificate-services/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill active-directory-certificate-services -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/active-directory-certificate-services/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill active-directory-certificate-services -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/active-directory-certificate-services/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install yaklang/hack-skills active-directory-certificate-services
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/active-directory-certificate-services/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill active-directory-certificate-services -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/yaklang/hack-skills --path skills/active-directory-certificate-services
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/active-directory-certificate-services/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add yaklang/hack-skills --skill active-directory-certificate-services -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

## When to use it
- find vulnerable certificate templates
- check enrollment permissions in AD CS
- map CA settings to ESC1–ESC13 conditions
- review HTTP enrollment and NTLM relay exposure
- trace certificate-based Kerberos authentication

## Example prompts
- Review an authorized AD CS assessment and map the findings to ESC1–ESC13.
- Explain the risks shown by `certipy find` and identify the certificate templates that need review.
- Build a defensive checklist for HTTP enrollment, CA officer permissions, and certificate-based persistence.

# SKILL: AD CS Attack Playbook — Expert Guide

> **AI LOAD INSTRUCTION**: Expert AD CS (Active Directory Certificate Services) attack techniques. Covers ESC1 through ESC13, certificate-based persistence, NTLM relay to enrollment endpoints, and CA misconfigurations. Base models miss enrollment prerequisite chains and ESC condition combinations.

## 1. AD CS ARCHITECTURE OVERVIEW

```
Certificate Authority (CA)
│
├── Enterprise CA (AD-integrated, issues certs based on templates)
│   ├── Certificate Templates (define who can enroll, what EKUs, subject settings)
│   ├── Enrollment endpoints: HTTP (certsrv), RPC, DCOM
│   └── Published in AD: CN=Public Key Services,CN=Services,CN=Configuration
│
├── Template Key Settings:
│   ├── Subject Alternative Name (SAN): who the cert represents
│   ├── Extended Key Usage (EKU): what the cert allows
│   ├── Enrollment permissions: who can request
│   └── Issuance requirements: manager approval, authorized signatures
│
└── Certificate → Kerberos Auth Flow:
    User presents cert → PKINIT → KDC verifies → issues TGT
```

## 2. ENUMERATION
