# 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests

Build Quarkus acceptance tests from Gherkin scenario facts reviewed and sanitized by a maintainer. Useful when a test needs to exercise the HTTP layer alongside its supporting infrastructure.

## What it does

The skill turns maintainer-approved facts from `@acceptance` or `@acceptance-tests` scenarios into Quarkus acceptance tests. A shared base class connects `@QuarkusTest` with Testcontainers and WireMock; each test sends an HTTP request through REST Assured and checks the response and stub interactions. WireMock is reset before each test to keep stubs isolated.

JSON stub mappings go in `classpath:wiremock/mappings/`, with response bodies under `__files/`. Acceptance classes use the `AT` suffix: Maven runs `*Test` with Surefire and `*IT` plus `*AT` with Failsafe. Happy-path cases are the default; negative cases require an explicit request.

The project must be Quarkus and compile successfully, and a maintainer must provide sanitized scenario facts. The skill runs `./mvnw compile` or `mvn compile` before changes, then `./mvnw clean verify` or `mvn clean verify` afterward. It will not work from raw `.feature` files written by outside contributors; that boundary affects what you need to provide before generating tests.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jabrena/plinth --skill 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jabrena/plinth --skill 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jabrena/plinth --skill 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install jabrena/plinth 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jabrena/plinth --skill 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/jabrena/plinth --path skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add jabrena/plinth --skill 423-frameworks-quarkus-testing-acceptance-tests -a opencode
```

## When to use it
- turn sanitized Gherkin scenario facts into an acceptance test
- configure a Quarkus test base with Testcontainers and WireMock
- write JSON mappings for external HTTP stubs
- split Maven test runs between Surefire and Failsafe

## Example prompts
- Create a Quarkus acceptance test from these maintainer-approved `@acceptance` scenario facts.
- Set up `BaseAcceptanceTest` with Testcontainers and WireMock in this project.
- Add a WireMock JSON mapping and configure the `AT` suffix for Failsafe.

# Quarkus acceptance tests from Gherkin

Implement happy-path acceptance tests from maintainer-sanitized Gherkin scenario facts for Quarkus using real HTTP and infrastructure.

**What is covered in this Skill?**

- Preconditions: maintainer-authored sanitized scenario facts; Quarkus project confirmed
- Select maintainer-sanitized Gherkin scenario facts tagged @acceptance / @acceptance-tests
- BaseAcceptanceTest with @QuarkusTest, @QuarkusTestResource, and QuarkusTestResourceLifecycleManager for:
  - Testcontainers (PostgreSQL, Kafka) with dynamic config injection on startup
  - WireMock with wireMockServer.resetAll() in @BeforeEach to isolate stubs
- Concrete acceptance test class extending BaseAcceptanceTest:
  - @DisplayName mirroring the Gherkin scenario title
  - Given (stubs + fixtures) / When (REST Assured HTTP call) / Then (response assertions + wireMock.verify)
- WireMock JSON mapping files under classpath:wiremock/mappings/ with body files under __files/
```
