## What it does

The skill covers how to build a tour through a 3D scene: an authored camera route, jumps to rooms from a list or floor plan, and an inspect mode with bounded orbit controls. Free walk exists too, but only when it is asked for. If all you have is a set of panoramas, the skill advises linking viewpoints instead of pretending the scene has walkable depth.

A route is stored as keys holding progress, position, look direction and field of view. Keys go before, inside and after narrow openings, eye height is measured from the floor, and the camera slows before turns. Interpolation is timed Hermite or a spline; when you interpolate look targets, keep the target from crossing the camera or the view flips. Curve parameter is not distance, so roughly constant speed needs arc-length sampling.

One controller owns the camera at any moment — the route sampler, the orbit controller or the transition handler, never all three. Entering inspect saves the route coordinate, the active stop and the scroll position; leaving restores them and clears stale drag velocity. A straight line from an interior to an exterior orbit can pass through a roof, so the handoff uses safe waypoints or a brief fade. Room cards, the floor plan and hotspots all read from one stop registry.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill 3d-virtual-tour -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/3d-virtual-tour/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/3d-virtual-tour/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill 3d-virtual-tour -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/3d-virtual-tour/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill 3d-virtual-tour -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/3d-virtual-tour/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install MengTo/Skills 3d-virtual-tour
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/3d-virtual-tour/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill 3d-virtual-tour -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/MengTo/Skills --path agent-skills/3d/3d-virtual-tour
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/3d-virtual-tour/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add MengTo/Skills --skill 3d-virtual-tour -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**

## When to use it
- build a walkthrough along a fixed camera route
- jump to a chosen room without flying through walls
- let the viewer inspect the model and return to the same spot
- drive room cards and the floor plan from one stop registry
- prefetch the next room's assets by route proximity

## Example prompts
- build a virtual tour for this Three.js scene with a camera route, room list and inspect mode
- add a handoff from the interior to orbit inspection that does not cross the roof
- wire the hotspots and floor plan to the tour's stop registry

# 3D Virtual Tour

Help the viewer understand a place through movement, landmarks, and direct navigation. Keep the route, camera, room labels, and controls in agreement.

## Establish the tour model

Inspect the scene, coordinate system, scale, floor elevations, door openings, renderer, camera controls, and asset-loading path. Preserve existing architecture and interactions. Choose the navigation modes the experience actually needs:

| Mode | Camera owner | Navigation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Guided tour | Authored route sampler | Scroll, play/pause, or previous/next stops |
| Room destination | Authored room pose or route stop | Room list, hotspot, or floor plan |
| Inspect | Bounded orbit controller | Drag, pinch, zoom, and return |
| Free walk, when requested | First-person controller with collision | Movement and look controls |

For a Seijaku-style experience, start with a guided route, room destinations, and optional model inspection. Add free walking only when requested or required; orbit controls alone do not provide a walkable interior. If the source is only a set of panoramic images, use linked panorama viewpoints rather than implying that it contains navigable geometric depth.

## Author a route through real openings

Store route keys as progress/time, position, look target or orientation, and field of view. Store stops with stable IDs, labels, route coordinates, and associated asset groups. Keep the route coordinate independent of page height or animation clock so room links survive layout changes.

Place keys before, within, and after narrow openings. Use floor-relative eye height, account for raised floors and steps, and slow before turns or important views. Keep the horizon stable and avoid large simultaneous changes in position, gaze, and field of view. Favor physically plausible proportions over an excessively wide lens that stretches rooms.
