## What it does

The skill hands your agent the unified `@21st-dev/cli` (binary `21st`). With it you can push a component to a team library, publish a CSS theme or a template listing, then edit, unpublish or delete your own items. It also covers finding and reopening old components and drafts, plus reading and replacing your public profile page (bento board).

Authentication comes first. Component publishing, inventory, metadata edits and unpublishing accept a `21st login` session or a `21st_sk_…` key. Theme and template commands need a real API key from the 21st.dev settings page, passed via `--api-key`, `TWENTYFIRST_TOKEN` or `API_KEY_21ST`. No key means no theme upload, so get one before you start.

Publishing a positional file path triggers auto-detection: the name comes from the exported component, the slug from the filename, tags from imports, and a demo is found or synthesised. The command then validates dependencies, builds the component, creates a Studio draft and opens CLI Review. The live component stays untouched until that revision passes review and is published. `--private` keeps access inside the team library, and catalog featuring is always a separate `21st submit <slug>` step.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add 21st-dev/skill --skill 21st-registry -a claude-code
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `~/.claude/skills/21st-registry/SKILL.md` — Copy the whole skill folder; for one project use .claude/skills/21st-registry/

### Codex

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add 21st-dev/skill --skill 21st-registry -a codex
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.agents/skills/21st-registry/SKILL.md` — For all projects use ~/.agents/skills/

### Cursor

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add 21st-dev/skill --skill 21st-registry -a cursor
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/skills/21st-registry/SKILL.md` — Cursor also reads .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/

### GitHub Copilot

1. **GitHub CLI**
```bash
gh skill install 21st-dev/skill 21st-registry
```

2. **Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/skills/21st-registry/SKILL.md`

### Gemini CLI

1. **Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add 21st-dev/skill --skill 21st-registry -a gemini-cli
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini skills install https://github.com/21st-dev/skill --path skills/21st-registry
```

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/skills/21st-registry/SKILL.md` — The legacy .windsurf/skills/ path still works

### OpenCode

**Skills CLI (Vercel)**
```bash
npx skills add 21st-dev/skill --skill 21st-registry -a opencode
```

### Claude.ai

**Claude.ai**
- Zip the folder and upload it in Settings → Capabilities → Skills

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/21st-dev/skill/tree/HEAD/skills/21st-registry/SKILL.md

## When to use it
- push a React component to a team library
- publish a CSS theme or template listing
- find and reopen an old component or draft
- unpublish or delete a published item
- update your public 21st profile page

## Example prompts
- publish this component to 21st
- find my old draft and open it
- make this component private to the team

# Publish & manage on the 21st registry

Publish components, themes and templates to 21st.dev, and manage what you've
already published, all through the unified `21st` CLI (`@21st-dev/cli`).

## Pre-flight (always)

1. **Authenticate before publishing.** Component publishing, inventory,
   checkout, metadata editing, and unpublishing accept either a `21st login`
   session or a `21st_sk_…` API key. Theme/template commands still require a
   real API key from **https://21st.dev/settings/api-keys**, passed via
   `--api-key`, `TWENTYFIRST_TOKEN`, or `API_KEY_21ST`.
2. The CLI is the unified `@21st-dev/cli` (bin `21st`). Don't reinvent — use it.
3. **Search before publishing** (`21st search "<query>"`) so you don't add a
   duplicate to the library.

## Find existing components and drafts

Start here when the user asks to continue or edit old component work:

```bash
21st components
21st components --status draft --scope personal --json
21st open component:123
21st open draft:<uuid> --no-open
```

`21st components` drains both independently paginated collections by default,
so an unfiltered run returns every accessible personal or Team component and
every owned draft. Narrow it with `--status all|draft|published|private` or
`--scope all|personal|team:<uuid>`. Keep the returned stable
`component:<id>` or `draft:<uuid>` reference; do not substitute a slug.

`21st open draft:<uuid>` resumes an editable Studio draft. `21st open
component:<id>` creates or resumes a server-owned CLI Review revision from the
retained published component code and demos. The live component stays
