## What it does

This rule gives Cursor instructions for Next.js development: add useful comments that explain code changes and keep existing comments unless rewritten code makes them irrelevant. Any line carrying `Do not touch this line Cursor` must stay unchanged.

It also includes a `package.json` snapshot with scripts for development, builds, type checks, formatting, and Vercel deployment. The dependency set names Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, `wagmi`, `viem`, RainbowKit, and Uniswap packages. Its file scope is `**/*`. Because `alwaysApply: false` is set, Cursor does not mark the rule for automatic use on every request.

## Install

### Cursor (native platform)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.cursor/rules/nextjs-seo-dev-cursorrules-prompt-file.mdc` — Frontmatter: description, globs, alwaysApply

### Claude Code

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.claude/rules/nextjs-seo-dev-cursorrules-prompt-file.md` — The paths frontmatter field limits the files: move globs from the source into paths

### Codex

**AGENTS.md**
- Codex reads AGENTS.md: paste the rule text there

### GitHub Copilot

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.github/instructions/nextjs-seo-dev-cursorrules-prompt-file.instructions.md` — The applyTo field sets which files it applies to: move globs from the source into applyTo

### Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.devin/rules/nextjs-seo-dev-cursorrules-prompt-file.md`

### Cline

**Manually: put the files in place**
- File: `.clinerules/nextjs-seo-dev-cursorrules-prompt-file.md`

Where a file is given instead of a command, copy the files from the source to that path: https://github.com/PatrickJS/awesome-cursorrules/tree/HEAD/rules/nextjs-seo-dev-cursorrules-prompt-file.mdc
