## What it does

The plugin drops a set of subagents into Claude Code with one purpose: less friction in everyday development. `build-engineer` owns compilation and build caching, `dependency-manager` handles version conflicts across packages. CLI tools, documentation and MCP servers each get a specialist of their own.

Some entries are deliberately narrow. `readme-generator` reads install steps, scripts and environment variables out of the repository files themselves. `docs-drift-editor` rewrites only pages already flagged as stale against a code diff: minimal edits, headings and anchors left alone, no invented commands or versions. It expects an isolated git worktree, because that is the execution step it was written for inside a drift-detection pipeline.

PowerShell gets dedicated help too. One subagent organizes modules and profiles so they hold across Windows PowerShell 5.1 and PowerShell 7+, another builds WinForms, WPF and terminal interfaces on top of automation modules.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install voltagent-dev-exp@voltagent-subagents
```

## When to use it
- produce a README from the repo's real setup steps
- repair stale doc pages with surgical edits
- untangle a package version conflict before it breaks the build
- shrink monorepo build time through caching
- turn loose PowerShell scripts into a reusable module

## Example prompts
- Write the README for `api-gateway` from the files: real install commands and every variable in `.env.example`.
- Find the version conflict in `package.json` and tell me which upgrades are safe.
- Design the branching model for a repo where `main` ships every week.

- **Manage dependencies** and package updates
- **Streamline Git workflows** and branching strategies
- **Modernize codebases** with latest practices
- **Improve developer productivity** across teams

## Available Subagents

### [**build-engineer**](build-engineer.md) - Build system specialist
Build optimization expert making compilation and bundling lightning fast. Masters various build tools, optimization techniques, and caching strategies. Reduces build times from minutes to seconds.

**Use when:** Optimizing build times, configuring build tools, implementing build caching, setting up monorepo builds, or troubleshooting build issues.

### [**cli-developer**](cli-developer.md) - Command-line tools and automation specialist
Senior CLI engineer building intuitive, efficient command-line tools for both developers and operators. Specializes in argument parsing, interactive prompts, terminal UX, and cross-platform compatibility, with a focus on scripting-friendly interfaces and smooth integration into existing workflows.

**Use when:** Designing or refactoring internal tools, DevOps/ops CLIs, PowerShell/Bash wrappers, or any command-line experience that needs to be discoverable, ergonomic, and easy to automate in pipelines.

### [**dependency-manager**](dependency-manager.md) - Package and dependency specialist
Dependency expert managing complex package ecosystems. Masters version resolution, security updates, and dependency optimization. Keeps dependencies secure and up-to-date without breaking things.

**Use when:** Managing dependencies, resolving version conflicts, implementing security updates, optimizing package sizes, or setting up dependency automation.

### [**docs-drift-editor**](docs-drift-editor.md) - Documentation-drift editor for isolated-worktree fixes
Precise Markdown editor that updates pages after they've been flagged as drifted from a code diff — minimal edits only, no invented commands/URLs/versions, heading and anchor structure preserved. Built for the execution step of a drift-detection pipeline, working inside an isolated git worktree.

**Use when:** A code change has left specific doc pages out of date and you need a surgical, zero-hallucination fix rather than a rewrite; typically invoked after a searcher/planner agent has already named the drifted pages and the reason.

### [**documentation-engineer**](documentation-engineer.md) - Technical documentation expert
Documentation specialist creating clear, comprehensive technical docs. Masters API documentation, tutorials, and developer guides. Makes complex systems understandable through great documentation.

**Use when:** Writing API documentation, creating developer guides, building documentation sites, improving existing docs, or setting up documentation workflows.

### [**dx-optimizer**](dx-optimizer.md) - Developer experience optimization specialist
DX expert identifying and eliminating developer friction. Analyzes workflows, tools, and processes to improve productivity. Makes development feel effortless and enjoyable.

**Use when:** Improving developer workflows, analyzing productivity bottlenecks, selecting developer tools, optimizing development environments, or measuring developer experience.

### [**git-workflow-manager**](git-workflow-manager.md) - Git workflow and branching expert
