## What it does

The plugin covers the whole path from an empty folder to a working MCP server in TypeScript. It ships three pieces: best-practice instructions, a slash command that generates a project, and an expert subagent you can ask while you work.

The slash command `/typescript-mcp-development:typescript-mcp-server-generator` scaffolds a complete server project with tools, resources and configuration. The `typescript-mcp-expert` subagent answers questions about developing MCP servers in TypeScript. Everything runs on the official SDK, so the generated layout matches how MCP is actually put together.

This is Node.js and TypeScript territory. If your server is written in Python or Go, the generator will not help you.

## Install

### GitHub Copilot (native platform)

**Command from the source**
```bash
copilot plugin install typescript-mcp-development@awesome-copilot
```

## When to use it
- scaffold an MCP server project in TypeScript with tools and resources
- wire up the official MCP SDK correctly
- get a working project configuration without hand-assembling it
- ask for advice on a tricky part of server development
- check your code against MCP best practices

## Example prompts
- Generate an MCP server in TypeScript with a tool that reads files
- /typescript-mcp-development:typescript-mcp-server-generator
- Ask typescript-mcp-expert how to declare a resource in an MCP server
