# superpowers-optimized

A fork of obra/superpowers that picks one of three workflow tiers on its own, adds safety hooks and keeps memory across sessions. Built for long projects in Claude.

## What it does

The plugin changes how the agent spends its first minutes. Instead of jumping into code, it stops and works with you on a specification, showing each piece in small chunks for approval. Only then comes an implementation plan with real red/green TDD cycles, YAGNI and DRY.

There are 24 skills inside for debugging, planning, code review, TDD and execution, plus a router that chooses between micro, lightweight and full tiers. On Claude you get the whole 11-hook lifecycle with proactive safety checks. Code review carries an OWASP checklist, and a separate red-team agent hunts for bugs that checklists miss, then fixes them through TDD.

Memory across sessions lives in four files: `project-map.md` for structure, `session-log.md` for decisions, `state.md` for the task snapshot and `known-issues.md` for errors already solved. A `context-snapshot.json` with the git blast radius is written at every session start. Watch out for overlap: other skills or agents in `.claude/skills/` and `.claude/agents/` covering the same ground will fight over triggers and bloat the context. The authors suggest turning off other plugins and clearing out third-party `SKILL.md` and `AGENTS.md` files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install superpowers-optimized@claude-community
```

## When to use it
- match workflow depth to task size without picking skills by hand
- catch security flaws before merge with an OWASP checklist in review
- skip re-exploring the project structure at the start of each session
- find bugs that checklists miss and fix them with TDD
- stop re-debugging an error that was already solved

## Example prompts
- Activate Superpowers Optimized and plan a secure user-authentication endpoint with full TDD and security review.
- Run the red team agent over the payments module and fix what it finds with TDD.
- Show session stats: which skills ran and how long the work took.

# Superpowers Optimized

**The production-grade fork of obra/superpowers** — same trusted workflow, dramatically leaner, safer, and more intelligent.

Built on the trusted obra/superpowers workflow and refined through research into LLM agent behavior, it adds automatic 3-tier workflow routing, proactive safety hooks, self-consistency verification at critical decision points, cross-session memory, and adversarial red-teaming — everything the original does, plus the discipline layer it was missing.

Cross-session memory changes the experience fundamentally. Without it, every session starts blind: the AI re-explores structure it already mapped, re-proposes approaches that were already rejected, re-debugs errors that were already solved. With the memory stack, it arrives knowing what was tried, what was decided, and why — and with a pre-computed snapshot of what was committed since the last session — and builds forward instead of sideways.

Five research-backed principles run throughout: *less is more* (minimal always-on instructions), *fresh context beats accumulated context* (subagents get clean scoped prompts, not polluted history), *compliance ≠ competence* (instructions must be carefully engineered, not just comprehensive), *verify your own reasoning* (multi-path self-consistency catches confident-but-wrong failures before they become expensive), and *accountability drives accuracy* (agents that know their output has real downstream consequences perform better).
