They cover API selection, address validation, rate comparisons, label purchases, tracking, bulk shipping from CSV, shipping-cost analysis, support-ticket drafts, and SDK upgrades. The skills guide Claude; a Shippo MCP server provides the tools for shipping operations. On first use, open `/mcp` in Claude Code, select `shippo-mcp`, and sign in to Shippo in your browser. Authentication uses OAuth, so there’s no API key to copy. Rate lookups and address validation are free, while buying a label charges your Shippo account at its discounted carrier rates. There is no API key to copy and no `SHIPPO_API_KEY` to set. ### 1. Install the plugin Add the community marketplace, then install: ``` claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community claude plugin install shippo@claude-community ``` For local development against a checkout, point Claude Code at the plugin directory instead: `claude --plugin-dir providers/claude/plugin`. ### 2. Authorize Shippo On first use, run `/mcp` in Claude Code, select the `shippo-mcp` server, and complete the Shippo sign-in in your browser (the sign-in uses your Shippo account via the goshippo.com OAuth issuer). Claude Code stores the OAuth token and refreshes it automatically. You authorize once. ### 3. Account and charges Authorize with your Shippo account via OAuth. Getting rates and validating addresses incur no charge; purchasing a label charges your account at Shippo's discounted carrier rates.
