## What it does

sap-hana-cli gives Claude Code an MCP connection to SAP HANA Cloud and on-premise systems. Its toolset covers table queries, schema inspection, CSV, Excel, and JSON data transfers, data-quality checks, schema comparison, privilege audits, backups, and system diagnostics. The README lists 166 MCP tools.

It also includes command discovery, examples, guided troubleshooting, CDS generation, test-data creation, and HDI container tasks. Connection settings can come from `default-env-admin.json`, `.cdsrc-private.json`, `.env`, `VCAP_SERVICES`, `default-env.json`, or `~/.hana-cli/default.json`; the plugin checks them in that order. Node.js 20.19.0 or newer is required, so older runtimes will stop setup from working.
