## What it does

Before a deployment, `/rootly:deploy-check` compares the current `git diff` with past incidents and checks on-call coverage. During an incident, `/rootly:respond` gathers context, related cases and on-call details. Other commands show service status and shift information, or prepare stakeholder briefs and handoffs.

For a post-incident review, `/rootly:retro` builds a timeline and lists contributing factors and follow-up actions. MCP commands use OAuth2, with Rootly login handled in a browser. Hook scripts that warn about active incidents during commits or pushes need `ROOTLY_API_TOKEN`; those warnings won't work without it.

To install from the marketplace, add the marketplace first and then install the plugin. After installation, run `/rootly:setup` to check the connection and configure service mapping.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install rootly@claude-plugins-official
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-official
```

## When to use it
- check a deployment against past incidents
- gather context and related cases during an incident
- review on-call coverage and upcoming handoffs
- prepare an incident brief for stakeholders
- compile a retrospective with a timeline and action items

## Example prompts
- Check the current `git diff` for deployment risks with `/rootly:deploy-check`.
- Investigate `INC-4521` and find related incidents: `/rootly:respond INC-4521`.
- Create a retrospective for `INC-4521`: `/rootly:retro INC-4521`.

## Why

You're in the zone writing code. Then:

- You `git push` and realize there's a SEV-1 in progress
- You get paged and scramble between Slack, Datadog, and your incident tool
- The retro after an incident takes hours to compile

**This plugin brings Rootly's incident lifecycle into Claude Code** -- so you can assess deployment risk, investigate incidents, check on-call, and generate retrospectives from the same terminal where you write code.
