## What it does

This plugin adds OpenSearch skills for several workflows. `opensearch-launchpad` guides search app development with BM25, semantic, hybrid, and agentic approaches. `log-analytics` uses PPL for log queries, error patterns, and anomaly detection, while `trace-analytics` supports investigations of distributed traces and slow spans.

Cloud skills cover Amazon OpenSearch Service, OpenSearch Serverless, Aiven for OpenSearch, and ingestion through OSIS pipelines with ASE. The agent follows the skill instructions and runs scripts directly, so an MCP server is not required.

You need Python 3.11+, `uv`, and Docker running locally. AWS deployment also requires configured AWS credentials.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

## When to use it
- build a semantic search application
- combine BM25 with semantic retrieval
- query logs for recurring errors with PPL
- inspect slow spans in distributed traces
- deploy OpenSearch on AWS or Aiven

## Example prompts
- Build a semantic search app with OpenSearch.
- Query the logs with PPL and identify recurring error patterns.
- Inspect this distributed trace and find the slow spans.

### Claude Community Marketplace (Claude Code)

```bash
# Add the community marketplace (one-time setup)
/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community
# Install the plugin
/plugin install opensearch-agent-skills@claude-community
# Reload to apply
/reload-plugins
```

After installing, try:

> *"I want to build a semantic search app with OpenSearch"*

Your agent reads the skill instructions and runs the scripts directly — no MCP server required.
