## What it does

decimal-scaled provides decimal number types whose precision is chosen at compile time. Its arithmetic supports exact decimal addition and subtraction, along with correctly rounded multiplication and division. Several rounding policies are available, and mathematical operations can use a strict integer-based path for consistent results across different platforms.

The plugin is associated with the Rust crate decimal-scaled. Its documentation covers selecting numeric width and scale, converting between types, and choosing rounding behavior. The crate can also be used in `no_std` and `no_std + alloc` configurations, while strict transcendental functions work without `libm`.

To add the plugin to Claude Code, run the marketplace and installation commands in sequence. Rust projects can declare the crate in `Cargo.toml` with version `0.5` and the `macros` feature. Rust `1.89` is the minimum supported compiler version, so check the toolchain before adding the dependency.

## When to use it
- calculate decimal amounts without binary floating-point representation errors
- fix decimal precision at compile time
- select a rounding policy for arithmetic operations
- reproduce mathematical results across operating systems and processor architectures
- choose a numeric width for high-precision calculations

## Example prompts
- Help me add `decimal-scaled` to my Rust project's `Cargo.toml`.
- Show me how to choose decimal precision and compare the `D38` and `D76` types.
- Explain how to calculate a square root in strict mode and configure rounding.
