## What it does

The plugin covers three related jobs: reducing technical debt, updating dependencies and automating refactoring. It runs as a set of workflows inside Claude, Claude and Cursor, so you point it at your own repository instead of moving code into a separate service.

Installation goes through the marketplace: add the `wshobson/agents` repository first, then install the plugin from the `claude-code-workflows` set. It ships under MIT, so you can read and edit the code.

Refactoring and dependency bumps rewrite files in your project, so run them on a clean branch with passing tests — otherwise there is nothing to roll back to. That alone is a reason to commit your current state first.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Plugin marketplace**
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
```
In the agent chat (not a shell):
```text
/plugin install codebase-cleanup@claude-code-workflows
```

## When to use it
- clear accumulated technical debt in a legacy repository
- update outdated dependencies without going file by file
- refactor a section of code from a description
- split oversized modules into readable pieces
- sweep the project before a large feature push

## Example prompts
- scan the repo and show me where technical debt is building up
- update the dependencies in `package.json` and fix what breaks
- refactor `src/orders.ts` and split it into smaller modules
