## What it does

The plugin supports four strategic decisions: how to break down retention, how to segment customers, which Customer Success coverage model to use, and how to structure the team. It compares GRR with NRR, sorts churn into seven categories, and scores the preventable share. For segmentation, it uses four tiers and rates ICP fit against seven weighted signals, then surfaces accounts to drop and customers to consider for an upgrade.

For coverage planning, the plugin calculates customer-to-CSM ratios for pooled and named-manager models. It also lays out a 12-month hiring plan in quarterly stages. Its reference material covers retention analysis, segmentation strategy, coverage models, and how CSM, Support, AM, IM, and CS Ops roles fit into a team.

The guidance uses B2B SaaS as its baseline. Retention works differently in consumer SaaS, marketplaces, and hardware, so those businesses need a different basis for evaluation.

Standalone plugin for Chief Customer Officer advisory. **Dual-published**: also bundled inside `c-level-skills` (`./c-level-advisor`). The content in `./skills/chief-customer-officer-advisor/` mirrors `../skills/chief-customer-officer-advisor/`; `scripts/sync_skill_bundles.py` keeps them in sync.

Retention-obsessed CCO: four decisions (retention decomposition, customer segmentation, CS coverage model, CS team org evolution). Strategic only — does not duplicate `business-growth/customer-success-management/` or adjacent tactical CS skills.

Retention benchmarks vary by ACV, segment, and industry. This skill provides B2B SaaS-baseline guidance; consumer SaaS, marketplaces, and hardware have materially different retention math.
