# backlog-swipe-triage

Swipe through backlog issues and decide each one: assign, ask for info, defer, close or ignore. Useful when the issue list has grown past the point of reading it.

## What it does

The plugin turns backlog triage into a series of swipes. For every issue you pick one outcome: assign someone, request more information, defer it, close it, or pass. You work through the whole list without opening each issue in a separate tab.

It installs from the `awesome-copilot` marketplace, which is where the plugin lives. The decisions map to the triage options the agent applies issue by issue. James Montemagno wrote it, MIT license, so you can read the code and change it.

This runs in GitHub Copilot only; the install command will not work in other agents. And if your backlog is not tracked in GitHub Issues, there is nothing to swipe through, because the plugin works on issues.

## Requirements
- Works with: GitHub

## Install

### GitHub Copilot (native platform)

**Command from the source**
```bash
copilot plugin install backlog-swipe-triage@awesome-copilot
```

## When to use it
- clear a backlog that has piled up in one pass
- assign owners across a batch of issues
- flag issues that are missing key details
- close stale issues without opening each one
- defer work that is not ready to start

## Example prompts
- triage the backlog by swiping, start with the oldest issues
- go through open issues and mark the ones that need more detail
- defer everything tagged low priority
