## What it does

Ziplark connects AI coding tools to archive operations through a Rust engine. It unpacks formats such as ZIP, 7z, tar, gz, xz, zst, lz4, ISO disc images, and RAR versions up to RAR5. When building new archives, it outputs ZIP, 7z, or tar variants, with AES-256 protection available on ZIP and 7z.

RAR and ISO handling is strictly read-only. Creating new RAR files is impossible because the compression format is proprietary. However, reading handles split volumes under standard or legacy names, recovers intact data from incomplete sets, and parses encrypted headers. Archive verification tests files in memory without dumping contents to disk.

Directory escape protection intercepts every extraction path. It validates relative paths and inspects on-disk symlinks before writing. The MCP server runs via the `ziplark-mcp` binary.

## Requirements
- Needs: a prebuilt binary from the repository releases

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Install**
- The MCP registry has no launch command for it: see the repository README

## When to use it
- Extract multi-volume RAR sets or ISO disc images
- Generate encrypted ZIP or 7z archives with AES-256
- Retrieve intact files from damaged or partial archives
- Verify archive integrity without temporary disk writes

## Example prompts
- Extract all files from `archive.part01.rar` into `./output`
- Create a `backup.tar.zst` archive from `./src` using maximum compression
- Test the integrity of `download.7z` and report broken entries
