## What it does

This MCP server exposes personal accounting data from ZenMoney to language models. It provides tools to inspect balances across cards or cash accounts, navigate nested category trees, and filter transaction records across chosen timeframes.

The toolset supports logging single expenses, incomes, and cross-currency transfers between accounts. With `update_transaction`, you can modify details like dates, notes, or categories across multiple entries in a single step using their IDs. Payee names can also be passed to `suggest_category` to determine the right category automatically.

Running the server requires Node.js 18 or higher and an API key from `zerro.app/token`. You must run `sync_data` before querying records, or the server will lack current data.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `ZENMONEY_TOKEN` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
