# Yandex Search MCP

This MCP server connects an AI client to Yandex Search API and returns structured web results. Use it when an agent needs ranked pages, snippets, and URLs.

## What it does

Yandex Search MCP sends queries to Yandex Search API v2 and exposes ranked results with positions, titles, URLs, domains, snippets, passages, language, and cache links. A request can set `maxResults` from 1 to 100, choose a region or page, and apply a family-search mode.

The server reads `YANDEX_SEARCH_API_KEY` and `YANDEX_FOLDER_ID`. Cyrillic queries use the Russian index, while Latin-only queries use the international index. It retries requests after 429 and 5xx responses with exponential backoff. The server will not start without the API key and folder ID.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `YANDEX_SEARCH_API_KEY`, `YANDEX_FOLDER_ID` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

- Use a Russian query to find pages explaining how to set `YANDEX_FOLDER_ID`.
