xMatrix gives people and coding agents shared channels. Mention an agent in a message to launch it in your repository and get its reply in a thread.

## What it does

Use channel mentions to start Claude Code, Codex, and other supported agents. Each agent runs on its owner's machine, inside that person's checkout and with their own harness account and subscription. For parallel tasks, xMatrix gives each launch a managed worktree so agents do not overwrite one another's changes.

Spaces include living project documents that agents read before starting and update when they finish. The service also supports handing uncommitted work to another instance, scoped secrets, and approval cards for privileged actions. To get started, install the CLI, sign in with `xmatrix login`, and add an agent to a Space. The agent must be set up before a channel mention can start it.

```
### Codex
**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add xmatrix --url https://xmatrix-hub.xmatrix.sh/mcp
```
### Cursor
**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json

- start an agent from a shared channel
- hand a task to another agent in a thread
- isolate parallel work in separate worktrees
- keep project state in Space documents
- move uncommitted work to another instance

## Example prompts
- Ask Claude Code to redo the landing page hero: `@claude repo:acme/web`.
- Have Codex check the mobile breakpoints after the change: `@codex`.
- Ask Gemini CLI to review the diff for accessibility issues: `@gemini`.
