# Wuniq KE (Knowledge Engine)

Wuniq KE connects an MCP client to the local Wuniq knowledge engine. Use it when an agent needs project decisions and constraints as it works.

## What it does

The launcher routes MCP client requests to the Wuniq app. Project knowledge lives beside project files in `.wuniq` files, which an agent can read before editing code and sync after changes.

This repository provides the lightweight `@wuniq/mcp` launcher, which has no dependencies. The engine itself comes with the Wuniq desktop app, not the npm package. You need the app installed and `npx`; Wuniq works locally without an account or cloud storage. The app is available for Windows and Linux, so this setup won’t work on other systems.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add wuniq -- npx -y @wuniq/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add wuniq-ke-knowledge-engine -- npx -y @wuniq/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "wuniq-ke-knowledge-engine": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@wuniq/mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "wuniq-ke-knowledge-engine": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@wuniq/mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add wuniq-ke-knowledge-engine npx -y @wuniq/mcp
```

## When to use it
- keep project decisions beside the files they concern
- read project context before editing code
- sync knowledge after code changes
- find Wuniq projects available to the current session

## Example prompts
- List the Wuniq projects available for this task and summarize their relevant context.
- Read the Wuniq context for the authentication module before changing it; preserve decisions already made.
- Record our decision, make the change, then sync Wuniq.
