# WormaCeptor

WormaCeptor lets an agent inspect a running Android debug app, including its requests, crashes, logs and storage. Use it to investigate app issues without pasting logs into chat.

## What it does

WormaCeptor connects an MCP client to a running Android app in a debug build. Its 44 tools cover network activity, crashes, logs, performance and storage, so an agent can examine what the app and its services are doing during a debugging session.

Add `wormaceptor-mcp-server` with `debugImplementation`, configure the app-side components, then register the server with your client. The `npx` launcher needs Node.js 18+, Java 17+ and `adb`. The bridge cannot reach the app without those components. It connects through `adb forward`; Bearer-token authentication is off by default, which matters when using a shared device.

Features can be enabled individually during initialization. Release builds omit the debug implementation, and the client falls back to a no-op. MCP inspection is therefore limited to debug builds.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add wormaceptor -- npx -y wormaceptor-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add npx -- npx -y wormaceptor-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "npx": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "wormaceptor-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "npx": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "wormaceptor-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add npx npx -y wormaceptor-mcp
```

## When to use it
- trace a request that returned an error
- read crash details alongside app logs
- inspect SQLite and SharedPreferences data
- check app performance metrics
- replay a request or configure a mock

## Example prompts
- Inspect the app's network requests and find the response that failed.
- Read the latest crash report and check the related logs.
- Show the SharedPreferences entries and inspect the setting value.
