## What it does

The server connects coding assistants to the WhatsTrending service using streamable HTTP at `https://whatstrending.si/mcp`. When asked about current topics, the model invokes `get_top_trends` to retrieve the current top 10 items alongside climbers and fresh entries since yesterday.

Data coverage spans Google Trends, TikTok hashtags, YouTube videos, Reddit threads, X posts, Amazon items, Wikipedia pages, and Spotify charts. The developer recommends starting prompts with "Using WhatsTrending" to prevent the model from falling back to generic web browsing.

The free plan includes 100 requests per month. Setup works via OAuth login in clients like Claude or by providing an account API key generated on the dashboard.
