## What it does

The server connects nutrition logging and food analysis tools to your assistant. It handles barcode lookups, hydration records, and macro estimates from text meal descriptions or photos. Remote lookups query USDA and Open Food Facts, with extra support for the Brazilian TACO 4 table.

Communication defaults to standard input and output (`stdio`). If you prefer a local network service, it supports an optional loopback HTTP mode on `http://127.0.0.1:3000`. User logs and auth tokens never leave your system.

Without network access, the server relies on `NOURISH_FIXTURE_MODE=1` to switch from external APIs to bundled fixture files.
