## What it does

Wavix is an MCP server that connects an AI agent to the Wavix communications platform. From the agent you can send SMS and MMS, place voice calls, run two-factor flows, manage phone numbers, register 10DLC campaigns, pull call recordings and read billing data. The tool catalogue lives in `TOOLS.md`; docs and the OpenAPI spec arrive as auto-discovered resources.

The quickest route is the hosted endpoint `https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp` over Streamable HTTP. Auth is either a Wavix account sign-in through OAuth 2.1 or a header of the form `Authorization: Bearer <api_key>`. You create the key in the Wavix Console under Administration → API keys → Create new. Clients that speak OAuth, such as Claude Desktop or Claude Web, skip the key entirely: add the connector, sign in, approve access.

The one-click buttons write a `YOUR_API_KEY` placeholder into your editor config. Until you swap in the real key, every request comes back `401 Unauthorized`. Cursor 2.4+ shows the whole catalogue; older builds stop at 40. Codex CLI needs the `mcp-remote` bridge because it speaks MCP over stdio. Self-hosting via Docker makes sense when your Wavix deployment isn't public or sits behind a firewall.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add wavix --url https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "wavix": {
            "url": "https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "wavix": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http wavix https://mcp.wavix.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- send an SMS or MMS from code without hand-rolling API requests
- run a 2FA flow and verify the code
- provision a phone number for a project
- complete 10DLC registration for messaging campaigns
- pull call recordings and billing records

## Example prompts
- Send an SMS to the number in my env var through Wavix
- List my Wavix phone numbers and their status
- Fetch last week's CDRs from Wavix
