# warp-agent-mcp

This MCP server lets an AI agent price, book, and track freight through Warp. It covers LTL, FTL, vans, box trucks, and multi-stop routes.

## What it does

warp-agent-mcp connects an agent to Warp tools for mode comparison, rate requests, and freight booking. It handles LTL, FTL, cargo van, box-truck, FedEx parcel, and multi-stop shipment workflows. After booking, the agent can retrieve tracking events, shipment documents, invoices, saved locations, and reusable load templates.

Claude Code can use the hosted HTTP connector or run `npx -y warp-agent-mcp` locally with `WARP_API_KEY` and `WARP_API_URL`. The local setup requires Node.js 20 or later, and the key can also be read from `~/.warp/config.json`. A payment method must be added to the Warp account for booking.

Sandbox mode is not supported. Test shipments therefore cannot be run through this MCP, so check that constraint before connecting it to a live account.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://mcp.wearewarp.com/api/mcp`
- Environment variables: `WARP_API_KEY`, `WARP_API_URL` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## When to use it
- compare freight modes for a shipment
- request an LTL, FTL, or van rate
- book a shipment from a quote ID
- follow a shipment by its ID
- retrieve BOL and POD documents

## Example prompts
- Compare the available freight modes for 3 pallets and explain the rate difference.
- Get an LTL quote between these two addresses, then book the selected option.
- Show the tracking events for shipment ID `shipment_id` and retrieve its documents.
