## What it does

This MCP server communicates with `https://api.vidalytics.com/public/v1/mcp` over HTTP. On the initial request, it prompts an OAuth authorization flow in your default browser. Once connected, your assistant can inspect video folders, fetch embed snippets, adjust playback options, and trigger remote file uploads.

Analytics queries require executing `set_user_context` before other tools will respond. The server reports audience drop-off percentages, conversion metrics, live viewer figures, and batch stats for up to 30 videos. Most write actions modify draft records first: updates to thumbnails, chapters, tags, or action overlays remain private until you trigger `publish_video`.

Read-only connections fail on write operations with a `SCOPE_INSUFFICIENT` response. When adjusting playback parameters, passing the `dryRun` flag to `update_video_settings` provides a before-and-after diff without saving changes.

## When to use it
- retrieve viewer retention curves and conversion data across assets
- update video chapters, subtitle tracks, and custom tags in draft mode
- create and position call-to-action overlays or pause screens
- generate signed direct upload URLs or fetch videos from remote links

## Example prompts
- Get dropoff retention metrics and conversion counts for video vid_123.
- Preview changes to player controls using update_video_settings with dryRun.
- Save new chapter markers to the draft and push them live with publish_video.
