# Val Town

Hooks your agent up to Val Town so it can ship HTTP vals, cron jobs, SQLite and email from the chat. Handy when you want a backend without running your own box.

## What it does

The plugin registers the hosted MCP server at `https://api.val.town/v3/mcp` and ships skills — markdown guides covering HTTP vals, cron, SQLite, email, OAuth, frontend work and API integrations. Your agent pulls in the relevant skill on its own once a request matches.

The first time an MCP tool fires, the agent opens a browser and walks through OAuth. No Val Town account, no working tools — that is the catch to plan for.

Skills live in `plugin/skills/<name>/SKILL.md` with YAML frontmatter. `name` and `description` are required; `triggers` is optional and only nudges `searchSkills` ranking, since Claude's native loader skips it. Build with `npm install` and `npm run build`, verify with `npm test`.
