## What it does

The server connects to USAspending.gov and hands the agent what you would otherwise dig out of the site by hand: contracts, grants, loans, subawards, recipients, agencies and federal accounts. Ask Claude about a contractor or an agency and it pulls the answer from there instead of guessing.

There are two ways in. The remote HTTP endpoint is `https://usaspending.1102tools.com/mcp`. The local route runs `uvx usaspending-gov-mcp`, which fetches and starts the package on your own machine. That second option needs `uv`/`uvx` on your `PATH`; without it the command goes nowhere.

MIT licensed, built by 1102tools-dev, repo `1102tools-dev/federal-contracting-mcps`. Supported clients include Claude, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cline, Zed and Gemini CLI. If federal procurement data is part of your work, this saves you the manual export dance.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Remote server: `https://usaspending.1102tools.com/mcp`
