# Tokenectomy Razor

Tokenectomy Razor trims dependency noise from error traces and redacts secrets such as JWTs and database URIs. Use it when logs are taking up an agent’s context.

## What it does

Tokenectomy Razor is an MCP server paired with a local AI gateway. It processes error traces, removing framework output from paths such as `node_modules`, `site-packages`, and `.cargo`, and redacts API keys, JWTs, and database URIs. The gateway description lists support for nine programming languages.

Start the gateway with `npx -y tokenectomy-razor --proxy` and point an agent to `127.0.0.1:8080`. Claude Code can also connect to the MCP server directly through `npx`. The listed platforms include Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini CLI. The gateway uses a local address, so its process must be running for an agent to send requests through it.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add razor -- npx -y tokenectomy-razor
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add tokenectomy-razor -- npx -y tokenectomy-razor
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "tokenectomy-razor": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "tokenectomy-razor"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "tokenectomy-razor": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "tokenectomy-razor"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add tokenectomy-razor npx -y tokenectomy-razor
```

## When to use it
- strip dependency output from an error trace
- reduce context taken up by verbose logs
- redact credentials from logs and requests
- route an agent’s requests through a local AI gateway

## Example prompts
- Trim dependency noise from this error trace while keeping the useful frames.
- Check this log for API keys, JWTs, and database URIs.
- Route Claude Code requests through the local Tokenectomy Razor gateway.
