# TLDers Domain Prices

Compare registrar prices, check domain availability and find promo codes. Use it when weighing domain extensions or renewal costs.

## What it does

This MCP server compares registrar prices for domain registration, renewal and transfer. It can compare up to 20 extensions, show price history, and list active promo codes. Availability checks use RDAP, with WHOIS as a fallback.

Prices are in USD per year. Since first-year rates often include promotions, renewal prices are shown too. The tools are read-only: they do not buy domains or change settings. Connecting requires a TLDers API key; running the local server requires Node.js 18+.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://www.tlders.com/api/mcp`
- Environment variables: `TLDERS_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

- compare registration and renewal costs
- check whether a full domain name is available
- find an active registrar promo code
