## What it does

Tethered Task Sessions links a local AI assistant with Tethered on macOS. A task profile can select a power mode, keep the Mac or display awake through Caffeinate, change brightness, cap CPU use for eligible background apps, and temporarily suspend or quit selected apps.

Profiles can depend on the current power source and battery level. Agent calls are matched through rules in Tasks → Rules, while History lists calls that still need a profile assignment. The server is listed for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed.

You need Tethered 1.2.0 or later, Pro Access, and MCP Bridge enabled in Tasks. Tethered must be installed and running on the same Mac account used by the AI tool; otherwise the connection will not work.

- keep the computer awake for a build or test run
- cap CPU use for background applications
- select profiles from battery and power-source conditions
- suspend apps when memory pressure reaches a configured level

## Example prompts
- Create a profile for a heavy AI task that selects high power and keeps the Mac awake.
- When the Mac runs on battery at 40% or below, apply the low-power profile.
- Set a CPU cap for a background app and suspend it when memory pressure rises.
