## What it does

The server connects an assistant to a public ledger of SHA-256 digests. In every round, hashes of archived files form a Merkle tree linked to the previous round. The resulting root anchors into Bitcoin via OpenTimestamps and carries an eIDAS timestamp.

The ledger never stores raw documents. It contains only hashes, tree roots, and anchor proofs. You can inspect any record using `scripts/verifier.mjs`, which runs in Node.js or browsers without extra packages.

Offline verification of proofs on your local machine requires `ots` and `openssl` command-line tools.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://temoinpublic.fr/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http temoinpublic https://temoinpublic.fr/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add temoin-public --url https://temoinpublic.fr/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "temoin-public": {
            "url": "https://temoinpublic.fr/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "temoin-public": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://temoinpublic.fr/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http temoin-public https://temoinpublic.fr/mcp
```

## When to use it
- prove document existence on a specific date
- verify SHA-256 hash chains and Merkle tree roots
- confirm Bitcoin anchoring through OpenTimestamps
- validate eIDAS timestamp tokens for archived files

## Example prompts
- Verify this SHA-256 checksum against the Témoin public registry
- Check whether the document hash has an OpenTimestamps Bitcoin proof
- Inspect the Merkle root chain for this archived record
