## What it does

Super Trouper speaks MCP over `STDIO` and turns Frida's capabilities into tools an agent can call. Those tools cover local, USB and remote devices, listing installed apps and running processes, managing sessions, and loading or evaluating instrumentation scripts written in JavaScript and TypeScript. A second group searches Frida CodeShare, lists popular projects there and pulls a project's source so the scripting tools can run it.

Handles keep things tidy. A device connection, a session or a script is referenced by an opaque handle returned when you create it, and reconnecting to the same device gives you the existing handle back. The whole thing ships as a single Go binary, statically linked against Frida Core DevKit v17.23.3, so no Python, Node or Frida CLI is needed on your host. Prebuilt binaries exist for macOS and Linux, with Docker, Homebrew and npm as install routes.

Building from source is the one path with prerequisites: grab a Frida Core DevKit for your build host and point `CGO_CFLAGS` and `CGO_LDFLAGS` at it, or the build fails. The npm package avoids that — the platform binary arrives as an optional dependency.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

claude mcp add super-trouper -- npx -y @crissyfield/super-trouper
```
### Codex
**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add super-trouper -- npx -y @crissyfield/super-trouper
```
### Cursor
**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "super-trouper": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@crissyfield/super-trouper"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### GitHub Copilot
**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "super-trouper": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",

            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### Gemini CLI
**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add super-trouper npx -y @crissyfield/super-trouper
```
## When to use it
- connect to a device and list its processes
- find an app by identifier or name
- load a Frida script and evaluate it inside a target
- search Frida CodeShare for a community script
- spawn a process suspended and resume it later
## Example prompts
- Connect to the device through super-trouper and list the running processes.
- Find a Frida CodeShare script that hooks network calls and load it into the app.
- Spawn the app suspended, then resume it when I say so.
