## What it does

Strata acts as a single connector for AI agents to interact with external tools. Instead of mounting dozens of standalone servers into your client, you route traffic through a unified interface. This keeps prompts from blowing up with hundreds of tool schemas before the model even begins its task.

You can connect directly to the hosted endpoint at `https://strata.klavis.ai/mcp/` or self-host by running `pipx install strata-mcp`. For programmatic setups, Klavis provides Python and TypeScript SDKs alongside direct REST endpoints like `https://api.klavis.ai/v1/mcp-server/strata`.

Hosted endpoints and SDK clients require a valid Klavis API key before accepting requests. Without it, the service will reject attempts to spin up instances for integrations like Slack or Gmail.
