# stierproducts tier lists

A read-only MCP server serving S-to-F tier lists across 208 product categories. Every placement comes with a citation.

- MCP server · `type=mcp` · Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, Gemini CLI
- Author: stierproducts
- License: not stated · policy=link-only · description only; the file stays with the author

## What it does

Six tools, all read-only. Start with `list_categories` — it returns every board with product counts and research dates, and the slugs cannot be guessed. From there `search_products` handles free-text queries, `get_tier_list` dumps a full board, `get_product` returns one item with its citations and link statuses, `compare_products` puts two to five items side by side, and `what_to_avoid` pulls the D and F tiers with the reasons behind them.

Comparison stays inside one category; a request spanning two categories gets refused. Every response carries `source_url`, `updated`, `license`, `attribution` and `monetization`. No key, no account, no auth — the server rate limits by IP at 120 requests per minute.

Clients that cannot call tools can still read the boards as files. `https://stierproducts.com/llms.txt` indexes the site, and `https://stierproducts.com/categories/<slug>.md` or `https://stierproducts.com/categories/<slug>.json` returns a single board as Markdown or JSON. Rankings ship under CC BY 4.0: credit “stierproducts” and link back to the board or item you pulled from. Product images sit outside that licence.
